8th Grade Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, please review these important reminders about upcoming 8th Grade celebrations.
Note: This year, the 8th Grade Party and Promotion Ceremony take place on different days.
8th Grade Party at Bowlero
Tuesday, June 16 • 12:00–2:00 pm Bowlero in Tukwila Buses depart IMS at 11:25 am and return at 2:30 pm

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony at MIHS
Wednesday, June 17 • 6:30–8:00 pm Mercer Island High School All students should arrive at MIHS no later than 6:00 pm

8th Grade Grad Grams
Celebrate your 8th grader and their friends by purchasing a Mercer Island Grad Gram. All proceeds support the Mercer Island Community Scholarship Program, which honors 23 graduating MIHS seniors selected by faculty for their positive contributions to the classroom and the community. Grad Grams is administered by the Mercer Island PTA Council.

8th Grade Party Info
Who: The entire IMS 8th grade class
Where: Bowlero, Tukwila - featuring unlimited arcade play, all bowling lanes, a photo booth, shuffleboard, pool tables, and lots of food! Low‑sensory bowling lanes and a quieter game room will also be available.
Menu: An assortment of food will be provided (pizza, chicken fingers, mac & cheese, salad, fruit, etc.), with gluten-free and dairy-free options available. Bowlero sources food from various local bakeries, so they are unable to guarantee that items are nut-free due to possible cross-contamination.
Date/Time: June 16, 2026 from 11:25am – 2:30 p.m. (Students will be at Bowlero from 12-2pm with bus transportation leaving IMS at 11:25am and returning to IMS at 2:30pm.)
Registration is required by June 1, 2026.
Register and pay $80 per child using the link HERE!
Volunteers: We have 12 amazing parent volunteers signed up to attend. IMS staff will also attend and ride the buses with the students to and from Bowlero.

*PLEASE NOTE: If your 8th grade child does not attend the party, they must be picked up from IMS at 11:05 a.m. on June 16th. 8th grade students may not remain at school after 11:05am on this day.
