Communication – Stay Informed!

School News – Our school newsletter is emailed monthly with great information on upcoming events and activities and announcements as well as updates from IMS Administrators and the MISD Superintendent.

 

Throughout any given month you may also receive quick email blasts with important information about immediate upcoming events.

Emergency Notifications

Information on school outages and other emergencies will be posted to the Public Schools Emergency Communication System by 5:30 am by Mercer Island’s Superintendent. Sign up for Mercer Island emergency notifications at www.flashalert.net.

 

 

Skyward Family Access

Skyward Family Access is our state-wide student information system. With Skyward you will get access to your child’s grades, attendance and food service account information. To sign up, please contact Vanessa Adams at 206-236-3330. She will create a login and password and mail them to you. For changes in address or emergency contacts please advise the school registrar/administrative assistant.

 

 

Absentee Line

If your child is going to be absent from or late to school, please call the Islander Middle School Absentee Line at 206-236-3400 and leave a message with the date, first and last name of your student, grade and reason for absence.

School Hours

School starts at 8:20 each morning. Wednesdays are Early Release days and students get out at 1:20. All other days of the week students are dismissed at 2:50.

 

 

Transportation

Visit District Transportation Department website to find out your designated bus stop and pick up/drop off schedule. Parents can make alternative arrangements for their children to take the bus to after school programs located at the Boys and Girls Club. Please contact the district transportation office to make alternative arrangements 206-236-3335.

 

 

MISD School Funding

Islander Middle School Gator Giving – supports both PTSA and IMS ASB activities including classroom enrichment, learning support, field trips. Gator Giving replaces other fundraising activities such as magazine sales, auctions, etc. The suggested donation will help fund the outstanding programs provided at Islander Middle School.

 

Mercer Island Schools Foundation – Fall Phone-a-thon provides classroom enrichment, fulfills teacher grant requests, and supports curriculum. The Spring Campaign focuses on retaining teachers and teacher coaches.
